What the heck is that: Flubbels?
And what does it have to do with wool, it sounds more like soap bubbles or a crispy, creamy dessert...
But yes, because Flubbels is made up of two yarn - names: Merino Bubbles and Fluffiosa.
Let both names melt in your mouth and you can already guess what caracter of the respective yarn is like.
Merino Bubbles is a merino yarn with funny little thickenings that indeed remind of little bubbles. Some nylon stabilizes the yarn.
Fluffiosa is the embodyment of softness and fluffyness. The ingredients here: Suri alpaca and silk.
When they were new to me, my fingers were itching to try them out and see how they would do in a duet. Well, and the rest is history. Somehow it turned out that these two yarns are always worked together in one way or another.
The two are a real dream team when it comes to light and airy knits. One thread of each knitted together with a 6mm needle results in almost weightless sweaters or cardis.The color of the blend is dominated by the Fluffiosa. The fluff wraps itself around the other yarn, enveloping it as it were. The little bubbles stick out a bit from the knit, creating fun little blobs that make everything come alive. And so Bubbles and Fluffiosa just became Flubbels for short.
