"Fliegender Teppich" by crocodile
The printed Version is in german only, sorry!
Barbara Laumbacher herself is writing about her design:
When I was a child, I loved to visit Munich's great art galleries together with my parents. I loved the huge paintings, it was fun to look at them and to come up with a lot of creative stories and new fairy tales.
There was one picture showing the scene at the crib: the three Magi are just arrived, Mary is sitting on a kind of throne, behind her a precious carpet. And soon I had a new story! I told my mother, this carpet is also a gift of the Magi, for sure, a magic, a flying carpet - after all, they come from the Orient - and Mary and her family need absolutely something to travel more comfortable than with a donkey!
And who of us does not dream of a magic carpet sometimes? Just fly over the rush-hour traffic, no holdup, no red traffic light?
So this year we will knit our own magic carpet. We are offering again Twisted Fifties kits for this project to create beautiful patterns inspired by oriental carpets. The shape will be a long asymmetrical triangle and the challenge will be fairisle. But don't worry, there will also be sections to relax!
The yarn requirements are two different sets with 4 skeins of Twisted Fifties each. For the main color of your shawl you will need a “Micro Fadient” and for the Fairisle part a set called “Farbquartett”.
