Actually, I like ponchos! Just throw on, that’s better than a cardigan.
But somehow I had never been really pleased with such a garment. Either I felt too less elbowroom, or I missed sleeves after all, or something else bothered me. Therefor the poncho and I didn’t become close friends until now.
But, for what I’m a knitter? If the perfect poncho is not up for sale, I will make my own!
And because ponchos are traditionally colorful, there is an opportunity to indulge oneself in colors!
Our poncho focuses not only on a generous pattern for elbowroom and directly added gauntlets, but first and foremost on playing with the awesome colors of our Trio Aquarell.
Back and front are knitted sideways, combination of different Trio Aquarell sets without knitting them in sequence is the fun. Enjoy yourself mixing and fading them, have fun finding your perfect color combinations. For the short-row elements you can choose a contrast color or use different contrasting Trio-colors from your sets.
Actually you will need five Trio Aquarell sets, but to be honest, the more colors the more fun!
For the shown poncho we used seven sets.
And remember: they are called Trio Aquarell not for nothing, use them to paint like using watercolors!
